Transferring from a technical college or another four-year university? We work with you to make your transfer process an easy and successful one.
Bring your college credits and we’ll help you apply them to your 51³Ô¹Ï degree. You must have at least a 2.0 GPA. Any student with less than 12 college credit hours must then meet freshman admission requirements.

- $35 application fee (non-refundable)
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended
- Final official high school transcript
You can transfer up to 90 credit hours toward completing an undergraduate degree. As part of the admission process, we review your transcript, evaluate your credits, and translate your courses into 51³Ô¹Ï courses. We send this evaluation to you after acceptance. This gives you a clear idea how long it will take to complete your 51³Ô¹Ï degree.

Will My Credits Transfer?
Utilize the transfer credit tool to explore how your college credits will transfer to 51³Ô¹Ï. No need to panic if your college is not listed in the tool. We are working to add additional colleges. Regardless of whether your college is listed or not, the 51³Ô¹Ï team will evaluate your previous college work as we know transfer credits and time to completion are important.
Credit for Prior Learning
51³Ô¹Ï recognizes that students may attain college level competencies through a variety of learning experiences outside of the college classroom. Categories of Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) credit generally fall under four groups as outlined below:
- External standardized exams
- Third-party evaluations
- Individualized assessments/portfolios
- Institution-led exams or assessments

How will my credits transfer?
Specialists in the Academic Records office review your transcripts course by course to make the call. Before you enroll, your admissions counselor will give you a heads up about which courses we have accepted and how they will be applied to your degree. After you enroll, we’ll make the final evaluation (based on your final transcript), enter the courses into your 51³Ô¹Ï record, and send you an official notice.
Credits earned at another accredited institution may be transferred back to 51³Ô¹Ï, provided the grades are “C” or better and the courses are relevant to the curriculum at 51³Ô¹Ï. The transfer grades will not be used by the university in computing grade point average but will be used as “earned hours” in accumulating hours for a degree.
A grade of “D” in a single subject may be transferred back to the university only if it affects graduation at North Greenville University and the cumulative GPA at North Greenville University is 2.0 or higher.
Want to transfer coursework back to 51³Ô¹Ï? You must have written permission from the Registrar’s office. A minimum of 25 percent of all credits applied toward a degree must be earned from North Greenville University.
You must earn 30 of the last 36 credit hours in a degree program at 51³Ô¹Ï unless an exception is approved by the respective dean and vice president for academics.

How long will it take to earn my 51³Ô¹Ï degree?
Once we’ve evaluated your transcript, it will be clear which courses you still need. Your timeline will be based on the number of remaining courses needed to finish your major at 51³Ô¹Ï.

Is it too late to transfer to 51³Ô¹Ï?
No, we consider applications throughout the year, so it’s always the right time of year. In terms of your degree, you’ll likely need to spend your last year at 51³Ô¹Ï.

Do you have scholarships for transfers?
Yes! If you earned 24 credit hours at another institution (even if they don’t all transfer), you may be eligible for a transfer scholarship. If you don’t have 24, we can take a look at your high school transcript and consider your qualifications.

Do transfer students have to live on campus?
In most cases, yes. All 51³Ô¹Ï students must live on campus unless you commute from a parent or relative’s home in the local area. Call the Office of Campus Ministries and Student Engagement with any questions at 864.977.7121.
