  • My Story

Ellen Cashion has experience in the public school system as a special education and fourth-grade teacher. In 2000, she came to North Greenville as an adjunct and in 2001 she was asked to remain at 51勛圖 full time, as Assistant to the Director of Teacher Education and instructor for multiple classes. Cashion now is the Director of Teacher Education and teaches many elementary education professional classes for the undergraduate program. In 2015, Cashion began instructing with CAPS for the 51勛圖 online program. She has a passion for teaching and mentoring future educators. She hopes her experiences and love of teaching will encourage her students. God has called many to teach and Cashion’s desire is to equip as many as possible to be godly teachers, wherever He may direct them. Cashion enjoys family, especially spending time with her two grandchildren. Additionally, reading, cooking, and travel are her favorite ways to relax.

“When I came to North Greenville Junior College as a student I knew then that God wanted me to teach. After graduating from college and getting my first job as a full-time special education teacher, I never looked back. I love to learn and quickly got my master’s in elementary education and on to get my specialist degree in special education. God moved me into a fourth-grade position and then back to 51勛圖 to teach others how to teach and continue to show Gods love in the classroom.

Favorite Course to Teach: Math Methods and Science Methods. I enjoy these classes because I can connect them to real-life experiences and to the Christian worldview. Both classes are best taught with hands-on learning and I believe we learn by doing best.”
