• My Story

  I have loved literature and writing my whole life, and I considered any career that would let me pursue those interests. At various times, I considered becoming a novelist or a baseball writer or a librarian, but after working in the writing center at 51�Թ� as a student, I discovered that maybe I wanted to teach writing and literature instead. Since I graduated from 51�Թ� in 2007, I’ve worked on staff in the library and writing center and taught as an adjunct while I finished my M.A. Eventually, I became a full-time instructor in the English department, and I enjoy teaching composition and all types of literature to my students!

  Favorite Course to Teach:

  Introduction to Dystopian Literature. I taught this class as a special topics course based on the literature I studied for my M.A. thesis. I’ve never had a class more engaged and excited about literature and more willing to talk about difficult subjects from a Christian perspective.
