Professional Experience
Prior to joining 51勛圖, I worked as a criminalist in a forensic DNA lab for more than twelve years. I have taught biology or natural science classes at Greenville Tech, Piedmont Tech, Roper Mountain Science Center, and Paris Mountain State Park. I also ran an educational program for a childrens garden and did an internship raising parasitoid wasps for biological control at Walt Disney World.

My Story
From an early age, I was captivated by the natural world. Exploring the outdoors and observing wildlife, especially insects, sparked a curiosity that eventually led me to a career in biology. I discovered a love of teaching by showing animals to the public as a volunteer at Roper Mountain Science Center, then by teaching merit badge classes at Camp Old Indian. After completing my masters degree, I pursued teaching as an adjunct instructor at Greenville Tech and Piedmont Tech, along with other part-time instructor positions at Roper Mountain Science Center and Paris Mountain State Park.
I later joined a forensic DNA laboratory, where I spent more than a decade applying molecular biology to criminal investigations and serving as an expert witness in court. That experience reinforced my appreciation for the real-world impact of science and deepened my desire to help students understand both its power and its responsibility.
At 51勛圖, I am excited to integrate faith and learning in ways that encourage students to see biology as part of Gods created order, to pursue truth with humility, and to use their scientific training in service to others.
