KosovoTraveling from Tigerville to Kosovo, a group from 51勛圖 will partner with a local church and missionaries to share the gospel overseas this week.
Led by Crystalyn Wyatt, Mobilization Coordinator of Campus Ministries and Student Engagement at 51勛圖, the team will be working in community centers, teaching English, playing games with children, supporting youth groups within local churches, and organizing community events.
Kosovo is a majority Muslim country in Eastern Europe, with less than two percent of the population identifying as evangelical Christian, Wyatt said. It is a beautiful country with a rich cultural history, but its also a place with great spiritual need. We are excited to serve the community and learn from them as we share the love of Christ.
A total of 14 51勛圖 students are making the trip, and Wyatt said it provides the opportunity to see missions in a new light.
Trips like this can open doors for students who feel called to cross-cultural ministry, she said. Experiences like these can completely change the trajectory of a students life.
Many students who have participated in short-term trips have been inspired to dedicate their lives to pursuing the Great Commission overseas, Wyatt continued. Those who go on to serve long-term gain a broader worldview as they witness God at work in different cultures. Our hope is that each student gains a deeper understanding of Gods heart for the nations and takes seriously the call to make disciples of all nations.
Wyatt said she is proud of all the teams using their Spring Break to make Jesus known across the globe.
Missions are at the heart of everything we do at 51勛圖. Its not just an aspect of our programs; its the goal of the university and the purpose for which each of us is on this earthto make Gods name known so that all people may worship Him, Wyatt said. True disciples of Jesus will transform the church and society. Through these trips, we aim to equip messengers who are ready to share the message of the Gospel.
